10 Reasons Why I Love Living in Glebe

Glebe is Sydney’s Bohemian suburb with a village like atmosphere. A leafy inner city area, known for its cafes, restaurants and pubs. Vibrant with students and artists alike, only minutes from the city centre.

  1. Small Bars & Restaurants – The Little Guy, Different Drummer Cocktail Bar, Tommy’s European Beer Café and Mr Falcon’s are my favourites!
  2. YHA GlebeYHA is located near Blackwattle Bay, this youth hostel attracts tourists from all over.
  3. Public Transport: there are three different bus routes that travel up and down the main road; one which can take you all the way to Coogee Beach and the other two which take you directly into the city.
  4. Location – Glebe is only 3km from Sydney CBD and popular tourist sites such as The Domain, The Rocks, Circular Quay and The Opera House.
  5. Blackwattle Bay – this is a popular spot to take your dogs for a walk, with great views of the city skyline and the ANZAC Bridge.
  6. Cafés – The Well Co Café has a balcony upstairs where you can sit and watch the traffic and people pass by or if you’re vegetarian head a few doors down to Badde Manors Café. What about Sappho Books, Café and Wine Bar?! I love this place. Grab a book to read whilst you sip on your coffee and enjoy breakfast in the sunny courtyard out back.
  7. Glebe Markets – This place livens up the area on Saturdays; that’s not to say that Glebe isn’t already lively! Glebe markets have been around for years, attracting people from surrounding suburbs.
  8. Art Gallery’sSalerno Gallery and Gallery Red to name a couple.
  9. The Atmosphere -The diversity of people that live in and visit Glebe make this suburb a pleasure to live in.
  10. The Peter Forsyth Auditorium – This indoor/outdoor auditorium is used for basketball, soccer, volleyball and netball games. Open 7-days a week.
